JUROR'S COMMENTS
"DRIVE says something. It says a portion of the whole is now the whole itself. It is a rectangular fragment like a puzzle piece which dared to escape from its greater body. It endured doubts but has successfully asserted its independence and formed a distinct identity and purpose of its own. It transcended existing as a partial representation of an object and chose instead to become art. The space is divided into horizontal bands which are broken by the quarter of the wheel on the bottom left and the vertical strip of chrome reaching the top on the right. The round, colourless wheel and its intricate details contrast the straight lines and deposit visual weight in an unlikely location. This situation is solved and balanced by the arresting blanket of flat colour above which holds down the composition and warms up the hard, metallic materials and the ample, black shadow below. The emblem could easily be the prize ribbon pinned on this unique and irresistible artwork which promises a classic, pink and oh so smooth ride." -- GALLERY RING
